Position:

We are currently seeking a motivated intern for the Winter 2027 term - January to April 2027. To be eligible, candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate program and returning to school following the internship.

 

This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be eligible to work full-time for the entire duration of the program.

 

About Mackenzie’s Sustainability Center of Excellence (CoE):

The Sustainability CoE was established to deliver innovative, sustainability-focused investment products, solutions, and services to clients. Our offerings span a wide range of sustainable investing strategies, including ESG integration, exclusionary screening, best-in-class approaches, and thematic investing.

 

The team also provides ESG expertise to shape firm-wide perspectives, design new products, support investment teams in leveraging ESG insights through integration and active ownership, and reinforce Mackenzie’s commitment to sustainable investing across clients, advisors, and communities.

 

Based in our Toronto office, we are looking for a dynamic, proactive, and independent intern who is eager to learn about our company and the evolving field of sustainable investing. This role reports to the Director, Sustainability Oversight and Disclosure, and will work closely with the Sustainability CoE team.

 

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Conduct and present research on sustainable investing trends and market developments
  • Assist in preparing executive-level presentations
  • Review business processes to identify opportunities for improvement, including leveraging AI
  • Develop fund-level, holdings-level, and firm-wide sustainability reports
  • Support coordination of team events and initiatives
  • Contribute to external publications and thought leadership pieces
  • Assist with sustainability-related research to support stewardship efforts

 

Requirements:  

  • Registered students returning to school in 2026 in a related field (BCom, BA, BSc, etc.).
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, judgment & decision-making skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Expert in Microsoft Office, AI tools (Co-pilot, Chat GPT etc.)

The expected annual base salary range (prorated for the term) for this role is $49,000 - $51,000, which is determined based on year of study, IGM program, geographic location and candidate’s skills, knowledge and experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for paid time off.
