The Role: Deliver secure, reliable cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and GCP. Build and evolve cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automated delivery practices, implementing architect-defined designs as well-formed backlog items. Partner with engineering, security, and platform teams to deliver scalable, compliant services and provide L3 engineering support through root-cause analysis and backlog-driven remediation.

Area of Responsibility:

Maintain Daily/Weekly visibility and progress with Engineering team(s) of tasks and project deliverables

  • Manage cloud delivery work in Jira (epics/stories/tasks) with clear acceptance criteria and Definition of Done
  • Provide L3 engineering support by triaging escalations, completing root-cause analysis, and driving corrective work through the backlog (coordinate via ServiceNow as needed)
  • Surface blockers, risks, and dependencies (network, identity, security, platform services) and coordinate resolution
  • Communicate delivery status through Scrum ceremonies and lightweight Jira reporting
  • Sequence deliverables to balance roadmap work, security remediation, and technical debt
  • Deliver cloud infrastructure changes using Terraform/IaC, including peer review and controlled deployments
  • Maintain engineering visibility into platform health and release readiness (monitoring signals, change windows, rollback plans)
  • Support cloud CI/CD automation (e.g., GitHub Actions) by diagnosing failures and implementing fixes
  • Remediate cloud governance and security findings (policy violations, misconfigurations) through backlog work

Receive and manage intake demand for Engineering teams:

  • Accept work primarily via Cloud Architect handoff; confirm scope, assumptions, and prerequisites
  • Maintain a groomed Jira backlog with Definition of Ready, acceptance criteria, and links to architecture decisions
  • Document dependencies (network, identity, security, application teams) and track prerequisites in Jira
  • Support sprint planning by confirming capacity and sequencing work based on architect priorities
  • Provide estimates, risks, and assumptions to support architect-led roadmaps and release planning
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and handoffs to unblock delivery
  • Keep architects, leads, and partners informed on progress, risks, and delivery dates
  • Identify resource constraints and conflicts early and propose mitigation options
  • Contribute improvements to shared IaC modules, templates, and delivery pipelines
  • Share lessons learned and propose standards (naming/tagging, security defaults, reusable patterns)

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Must have 3-5 years of hands-on engineering experience delivering solutions in at least one major cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP); multi-cloud exposure is an asset
  • Strong understanding of cloud security fundamentals (IAM/RBAC, least privilege, encryption, secrets management) and secure-by-default patterns
  • Proven expertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (modules, state management, code review practices)
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD automation for infrastructure and cloud services (e.g., GitHub Actions), including testing and promotion between environments
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Go, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation, integration, and troubleshooting
  • Able to take architect-defined requirements and deliver high-quality implementations with minimal rework
  • Quality-first approach: peer review, automation/testing where applicable, and clear documentation (runbooks/change notes)
  • Continuous learning mindset to stay current on cloud services, patterns, and tooling
  • Experience in a technology delivery environment where funds/resources/time constraints create challenges to be balanced
  • Clear technical communication (design notes, runbooks, and change documentation)
  • Ability to communicate status, risks, and tradeoffs concisely in writing (Jira updates, short summaries)
  • Collaborative working style with engineers, architects, security, and platform partners
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator/Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect)

Nice to Have Experience:

  • Experience with GitOps and modern version-control workflows (pull requests, branching strategies, code reviews)
  • Knowledge of cloud cost management and governance practices (tagging standards, policy-as-code, chargeback/showback concepts)
  • Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and/or cloud observability tooling (logging, metrics, tracing)

The expected annual base salary range for this role is $76,500 -$98,000, which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
