Position

 

Mackenzie Investments is seeking a Trade Operations Analyst to join our Multi-Asset Strategies Team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the full trade lifecycle across a wide range of asset classes, including equities, derivatives, and foreign exchange. This position requires a hands-on, highly organized individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and who can communicate effectively across teams to ensure trade integrity and accuracy.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full trade lifecycle, from trade initiation and execution to post-trade reconciliation and settlement.
  • Conduct pre-trade analysis to validate trade feasibility, run compliance checks
  • Act as a key liaison between the trading desks, portfolio managers, middle/back office, and custodians to ensure timely and accurate trade booking and settlement.
  • Reconcile executed trades against expected outcomes, identifying and resolving discrepancies quickly and thoroughly.
  • Collaborate with tax, compliance, and risk teams to address trade-related considerations, ensuring trades are processed in accordance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Investigate and escalate trade exceptions, working cross-functionally to implement long-term resolutions.
  • Contribute to process optimization initiatives, including automation and operational workflow design.

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in asset management, capital markets, or trade operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Bloomberg OMS, Excel. Proficiency in Python is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of trade execution workflows across equities, derivatives, and FX.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly articulate issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A mindset focused on risk control, process improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Experience in compliance, risk management, or trading departments is considered a strong asset.

 

  1. a) Knowledge of French and Englishis required to support clients and Team members within and/ or outside the province of Quebec. 
  2. b) As this position is posted in Montréal,Torontoand Winnipeg, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English. 

The expected annual base salary range for this role is $90 000 - $140 000, which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
