The Role

We are seeking a UX-UI Designer for a 12-month contract to cover a parental leave. This role is part of the Experience Design team within Digital Marketing. The successful candidate will shape digital user experiences across public and secure websites for IGM Financial, engaging with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive, effective, and engaging solutions for our clients and advisors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate user, business, and technology requirements to define and clarify core problems for digital initiatives.
  • Facilitate interviews, workshops, and design sessions to build empathy, educate stakeholders, and advocate for our end-users.
  • Plan and execute usability tests, surveys, and user interviews, incorporating feedback to inform concept and application development.
  • Design wireframes and prototypes for multiple digital touchpoints, users, and business marketing objectives, working within our content management system (AEM).
  • Co-own design systems within our CMS (AEM), including designing and maintaining components and content usage guidelines for internal stakeholders (marketing content creators and web production team).
  • Contribute to a user insights-driven culture by critically identifying opportunities to enhance our design process and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Product Management, Marketing, Development, Research, and Creative teams to ensure alignment and effective execution across projects and brands.
  • Manage multiple projects, balancing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapting to shifting requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of UX design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating user experience artifacts, design systems, interface designs, and marketing/content-related projects.
  • Fluency with UX design processes and tools (personas, flows, journey maps).
  • Proficiency with Figma; knowledge of Adobe XD and Creative Suite an asset.
  • Experience designing for responsive web, mobile, and accessibility principles.
  • Experience with user research tools and methodologies.
  • Experience creating, maintaining, documenting, and advocating for design systems and content guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and brands simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • University degree or certification in user experience design, human computer interaction (HCI), interaction design, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), component libraries, or content management systems is an asset.
  • Experience in the finance industry, B2C/B2B business models, or basic understanding of front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with agile development and scrum methodology is an asset.
