Position

Reporting to the Director Market Data Management, the Senior Market Data Analyst is responsible for managing the financial market/index data database and working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure records are up-to-date and accurate. The ideal candidate should understand market/index data management practices, have knowledge of invoice and accounts payable processes, and experience with market data management systems such as TRG Screen or similar financial index subscription database systems.

 

Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative oversight of IGM’s market data database system (i.e. TRG Screen)
  • Subject matter expert for all things related to the market data database system such as inputting records, pulling information, identifying needs and opportunities, record keeping and processing invoices within the system
  • Daily record keeping and entry of market data contract information, invoice details, user files within the market data system
  • Maintaining accurate catalogue and storage of market data contracts and designing a reference system that allows for ease of identification and retrieval
  • Providing procurement and stakeholders updates and schedules of upcoming contract renewals
  • Managing invoice intake mailbox and ensure updates are made in a timely manner
  • Acting as a control function for the authorization of market data requests and the documentation of new and existing services being added and removed within the database
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to drive efficiencies, improvements and resolve issues   
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities to drive towards automation and efficient invoice processing procedures
  • Generating insights and trend analysis for market data spend and usage reporting through developing and maintaining dashboards
  • Execute and operationalize the Market Data Strategy through process efficiency, spend transparency and data governance
  • Providing backup coverage for IGM’s Source-to-Contract platform SME including processing of eSignatures for supplier contracts

Requirements:

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience (ideally within the financial services industry)
  • Good understanding of market data/index data contracts and invoices
  • Basic knowledge of contract attributes and contract inventory
  • Excellent communication skills and time-management
  • Advanced level of understanding of Microsoft Office Tools (e.g., Excel, PPT, Word)
  • Strong analytical skills to gather relevant information, identify key issues, critically compare information, develop conclusions, and develop well-supported recommendations
  • Able to clearly convey ideas, information and materials to individuals and groups

 

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis and reporting
  • Experience working with TRG Screen, Excel, Power BI Ivalua or other Source-to-Pay tools; ability to navigate vendor portals
  • Experience working with database and data analytical tools.
