The Role:

 

The Data Integrity and Plan Manager team is seeking a knowledgeable, driven, and inquisitive self-starter to join us as a Senior Associate, Data Integrity. Reporting to the Senior Manager Operations Services, Specialized Operations and Relationship Management, the successful candidate will maintain operational controls, reporting and provide oversight of key administrative functions. The Senior Associate will provide support for our regulatory periodic government filings and will continually look for opportunities for administrative efficiencies.   

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and review reports to ensure integrity of client data and transactional information.
  • Investigate client data anomalies and missing data, research solutions and assist in making corrections
  • Provide transactional and client account data support to resolve issues.
  • Stay updated on regulatory filing requirements and changes, work with business partners to ensure updates are incorporated into the filing processes.
  • Provide support and oversight of periodic government filings.
  • Research and respond to exceptional technical and transaction inquiries from internal teams and assist with regulatory inquiries and data reviews.
  • Work with business partners to provide data for audits and inquiries from regulatory partners.
  • Identify transactional issues requiring investigation and opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Liaise with internal business partners and our system vendors to investigate transactional difficulties.

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business or a relevant field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry.
  • Exceptional knowledge of internal systems, particularly SAS screens and transactions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of tax slip reporting and filing procedures/regulations, including annual tax slip filings for registered and non-registered plans, TFSA annual information filings and FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) and CRS (Common Reporting Standard) annual.
  • Strong knowledge of Registered Plans (RRSP, RRIF, Locked-in Plans, RESP, RDSP, TFSA, FHSA, and Pensions) and taxation of these plans.
  • Knowledge of mutual fund taxation
  • Proficient with MS Office specifically Excel, demonstrating the ability to efficiently work with large volumes of transactional data.
  • Ability to program and develop MACROs is an asset.
  • Proactive in a deadline-oriented environment with solid decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • In-depth knowledge of Mackenzie Investments Administrative Policies and Procedures.
  • Bilingual (English, French preferred) is an asset.

Education

  • University Degree, ideally Business or data analytics related.
  • Successful completion of IFIC, CSC, or Financial Planning courses is an asset.
