The Role

As a Senior Specialist within IGM’s Real Estate Delivery team, you will be responsible for liaising between our IGM construction project managers and our internal & external technology partners to coordinate the technology activities on projects.

 

We are looking for an organized and adaptable candidate who thrives in a dynamic environment and excels as a flexible, effective communicator across teams, supporting a variety of initiatives, processes, and procedures.

 

Reporting to the Practice Manager, Real Estate Delivery you will be responsible for:

  • Technology coordination. You will be accountable for understanding the technology scope and requirements, initiating the work requests with the required technology stakeholders, monitoring progress of the technology tasks for each project and keeping the respective project managers apprised of status and any issues/risks required attention or escalation.
  • Technology workstreams you will be responsible for coordinating include but not limited to: LAN room readiness and compliance with IGM LAN room standards; monitor & docking station installation; network installation and testing (circuits, switches, wired/wireless networks); print delivery, configuration and testing; installation, configuration and testing of video conferencing equipment (i.e. Microsoft Teams); digital signage and any new technology that is added to our design/technology standards. Execution of these tasks will be responsibility of IGM internal teams as well as various external vendors.

 

Duties:

  • For assigned projects:
    • Identify technology related deliverables and tasks – using existing Delivery Framework, checklists and documentation
    • Work with the project manager to refine the task list and agree on who is responsible for each
    • Engage the required internal and external partners and complete necessary intake forms
    • Ensure handoffs between stakeholders where there are dependencies
    • Monitor, track and report status on technology activities
    • Respond to questions/inquiries from the project manager or other stakeholders on the status of specific tasks/deliverables
    • Escalate issues on a timely basis so that solutions can be found
    • Responsible for assembling / maintaining documentation related to the project, providing lessons learned, supporting the project closeout

The following qualifications will assist the successful candidate:

  • Strong proactive thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and client service abilities. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks and vendors effectively.
  • 3-5 years in a technology project coordination / project management role
  • Facilities or construction management experience would be an asset but is not required
  • Experience in a corporate setting and the complexities of understanding and complying with corporate policies, standards and guidelines
  • Experience involving multiple departments, vendors, external partners
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Bilingual (English/French) preferred but not required
