Position

We are currently hiring an intern looking for a summer term position, (May – August) with the possibility of extending. Candidates in an undergraduate program (preferably in a STEM or investment finance field) that will be returning to school after the internship to be eligible to apply.

 

The candidate will be helping our small but growing team to develop cutting-edge research and analytical tools. The candidates will be responsible for maintaining and improving the team’s existing core quant infrastructures. The intern will work very closely with all members of the team and will be able to gain exposure to all facets of the business. 

Responsibilities:

  • Help evolve our current quantitative tools and infrastructure used to construct portfolios, conduct empirical research, and monitor both passive and alpha generating models and portfolios
  • Support and improve the production processes updating database, generating trade signals and portfolios
  • Consolidate information needed for running of the risk monitoring and performance attribution systems
  • Communicate with trading desk and back office necessary to ensure smooth running of the trading processes

Requirements:

  • Possesses strong and demonstrable programming skills in Python and one other secondary language
  • Working knowledge of database query and design (Mongodb or SQL)
  • Experience working with Cloud computing tools (preferably on AWS). Experience working with docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of git and CI workflows. If you have a github profile, include it in your Resume.
  • Experienced working with large datasets is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with software design patterns and best practices and a capacity to work with a variety of technologies.
  • Self-starter with strong problem solving skills and the ability to think outside of the box
  • Team player who demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail with an ability to produce quality work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Exhibits strong interests in technologies and finance and is keen to apply the latest technologies to solve fascinating problems in quant investing (docker, micro-services, ci, continuous deployment, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of statistics and finance, understand global macroeconomics and global financial markets
