    The Business Operations Support Department at Mackenzie Investments is currently accepting applications for the position of Business Operations Support Analyst.  The Business Operations Support Analyst is responsible for ensuring the ongoing integrity of our client transactional and reporting based systems. They provide support to the user community through expert knowledge of the systems and procedures used in maintaining client data. This support is offered through situational analysis of reported /detected problems and providing solutions to those problems. The position also supports product changes for the core business systems.  

     

    Reporting to the Manager, Business Operations Support, the successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will include: 

     

    Analysis & Change Management 

    • Investigate and record system problems, system related queries and submit file fixes reported by users
    • Field telephone and email queries from business partners across the organization
    • Attend Service Recovery Meetings; Participate in the identification and evaluation of system problems
    • Resolve the system issues in conjunction with IS practitioners  
    • Participate in the evaluation of new initiatives; changes and problems  

    Product and Fund Support 

    • Review Product Summary sheet and Preliminary Fund Prospectus, verify the accuracy and identify discrepancies in these documents
    • Gather information, prepare and test updates to multiple systems (including SAS, FundSERVand Unitrax) to support fund activities (launches, mergers, change and fees) 
    • Coordinate activities across various teams including Product, Legal, Fund Services, IS and Operations 
    • Verifying commissions, redemption charge and trailer fees
    • Document activities in compliance with CSOX controls 

    Maintenance and Testing 

    • Maintain tables to support business needs in compliance with CSOX controls
    • Perform quarterly and annual CSOX audit reviews 
    • Resolving critical system issues via testing, implementing the codes, and verify the final results
    • Perform and co-ordinate year end activities including SAS production table update and data verification
    • Review test plans to complete MFC UAT process and approve system code change to production

    The following qualifications will assist the successful candidate in performing these duties: 

    • 3 to 5 years’ experience is preferred in the financial service industry
    • Post Secondaryeducation required
    • Demonstrated ability to work as a team in a high-pressured and challenging environment
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal 
    • Strong knowledge of mutual fund business operations/financial industry 
    • Demonstrated analytical skills and experience in triaging complex business issues
    • Exposure to multiple information processing environments
    • Platforms: IBM MVS [Mainframe/TSO], SAS, Unitrax, UNIX, PC, JCL Internet/Intranet
    • Exposure to testing or project methodologies
    • In-depth knowledge of MFC core systems and procedures
    • Independent, adaptive learner with ability to multi-task  
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)  
    • Successful completion of the Canadian Investment Funds course/Operations Course and the Canadian Securities Course is an asset
