The Internal Audit Department is an independent appraisal function within the Corporation which has been established in order to examine and evaluate the activities of the Corporation. The objective of Internal Audit is to assist members of the Corporation in the effective discharge of their responsibilities. To this end, Internal Audit furnishes these individuals with analyses, appraisals, recommendations, counsel and information concerning the activities reviewed. The audit objective includes promoting effective and efficient controls. The members of the Corporation who are assisted by Internal Audit include those in Management and the members of the Board of Directors.
Reporting to the Director, Operational, Financial & Regulatory Compliance Auditing the Manager, Internal Audit position is responsible for the planning, development, execution, and coordination of audit activities within designated segments of Investors Group, Mackenzie Investments and IPC to ensure that financial, operational, information systems, and regulatory compliance processes have adequate internal controls which are operating in an effective manner. This position is also responsible for communicating audit findings and recommendations to Audit Management, as well as the development and training of audit staff.
