    The IS Services Division provides information technology solutions and support to the Power Financial group of companies:  Investors Group, Mackenzie Financial, Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life. The Data Office oversees the technology management and governance of IGM’s data assets. This includes providing enterprise Data services, advancing & expanding our Data Hubs, overseeing the re-platforming of legacy assets, supporting core data intensive applications and delivering the data component of data intensive projects.


    This is a very exciting time at Mackenzie Investments, especially in the Data Office.  We are adopting extensive technological change to thrive in the new and changing Financial Services industry.  We are embracing big data, cloud computing, and high-performance data appliances in a delivery focused Agile environment. 



    The Information Services (I.S.) division is looking for a Software Developer for its Mackenzie Investments location in Toronto. The successful candidate will be associated with the Data Office. 

    The Software Developer will design, develop and implement software solutions to meet our business objectives. They are able to design software solutions across a variety of platforms and work effectively as a member of a larger, multi-disciplinary team.  They have outstanding problem solving abilities and can communicate their ideas easily to others. They are willing to learn to technologies and eager to apply their learning’s in the work environment.



    • Design, build, test and implement software solutions
    • Perform application analysis
    • Provide estimates for software development work
    • Provide consultation to Systems Analyst and Systems Architect



    • Post secondary relevant degree/diploma (Computer Science, Computer Analyst/Programmer or equivalent)
    • Creative and possess strong problem-solving skills
    • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a team or individually
    • Database design and development for Oracle and SQL Server would be an asset
    • Experience in the writing and use of SQL would be an asset
    • Knowledge of SAP in the one or more of the following areas (Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, ECC, BI, BW and ABAP) would be an asset.
    • Positive attitude and ability to learn new technologies quickly
    • Outstanding English communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Proven success setting work priorities, multi-tasking and balancing varying demands
    • Dedication to keeping up to date with current trends and best practices
