    The Retail Distribution Department at Mackenzie Investments is currently accepting applications for the position of an Private Wealth Counsel Account Manager in Calgary or Vancouver. Reporting to the Director, Private Wealth Counsel, this individual will be responsible for sales growth in Private Wealth Counsel and increasing PWC presence across sales territories through our regional offices.


    As a valued member of the Retail Distribution team your core responsibilities will include:

    • Work with independent financial advisors to develop customized portfolio and wealth management solutions through the Mackenzie Private Wealth Counsel offering
    • Support Mackenzie’s Wholesalers and Inside Wholesalers in their efforts to provide timely and proactive support for their High Net Worth business
    • Overall account management of a book of HNW client accounts - responding to internal and external inquiries from dealers and clients and coordination of annual portfolio reviews.
    • Resolving account and portfolio related problems for financial advisors and clients.
    • Provide on-going product support to Mackenzie’s sales teams and respond to their HNW inquiries
    • Build and manage relationships with financial advisors and their national sales teams for their HNW business
    • Prepare customized proposals for advisors to use in their client presentations
    • Communicate with dedicated portfolio manager and Tax and Estate experts to assess suitability of portfolio for advisors
    • Coordinate the development of the Tax and Estate Summary Reports with Mackenzie’s Tax and Estate Planning team for advisors who elect to use this option for their HNW family clients
    • Contribute to the development and structure of new product offerings and projects as required
    • Assess features and compare competitive offerings for HNW clients relative to Mackenzie’s own products

    The following qualifications are required of the successful candidate:

    • At least 5-7 years of financial industry experience
    • Sales and/or marketing experience
    • Ability to translate complex concepts into marketable ideas and materials for wholesalers and financial advisors
    • Basic understanding of equity, fixed income assets and derivatives
    • Enrolment or completion of financial industry related accreditation, such as CFA, CIM, CFP would be considered an asset
    • Proficient PC skills including working knowledge of Excel and Word
    • Sound technical knowledge of Mackenzie mutual fund products & solutions
    • Sound knowledge of Canadian tax regulations related to mutual funds, financial planning opportunities and estate planning
    • Demonstrated exceptional customer service to HNW clients and financial advisors
    • Self-starter, strong initiative with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in an interdependent team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
    • Related industry experience working with HNW clients and financial advisors
    • An ability to exceed customer expectations in terms of efficiency, certainty and professionalism
    • An effort to seek out continuous improvement, and general efficiency
    • Bilingualism (French) an asset
