    The Role

    Reporting to the Director, Fund Financial Reporting, the successful candidate will be responsible for financial and regulatory reporting for the Mackenzie Funds (including Financial Statements, Management Reports of Fund Performance (“MRFPs”), Quarterly Portfolio Disclosure, Fund Facts, ETF Facts), review of expenses and derivative compliance with National Instrument 81-102 (“NI 81-102”), among other duties.


    Specific responsibilities include: 

    • Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of the fund financial statements and notes on annual and semi-annual basis
    • Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial components of MRFPs on annual and semi-annual basis (e.g. management expense ratios), ensuring compliance with National Instrument 81-106
    • Preparation of financial information for audit committee meetings
    • Participate in coordinating launches of new funds and series
    • Liaising with the internal and external auditors by preparing schedules, responding to queries, and providing supporting documentation
    • Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of Fund Facts and ETF Facts
    • Monitoring derivatives to ensure compliance with NI 81-102
    • Ensuring on-going adherence to internal controls policies and procedures
    • Lead, motivate and develop a team of financial analysts 
    • Assisting in various adhoc projects, as necessary

    The following qualifications will assist the successful candidate in carrying out these responsibilities: 

    • Post secondary education – University Degree
    • CPA Chartered Accountant designation 
    • 5+ years of progressive finance/accounting/auditing experience including direct leadership experience within the mutual fund industry
    • High Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
    • High attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with departments across the organization
