    The Brand Strategy & Planning Team plays a pivotal role at Mackenzie by leading the development, integration and communication of the Mackenzie brand to our core audiences (Employees (Current and Future), Advisors, Investors, Community, Media) and ensuring they are aligned with its corporate goals, objectives, and strategies.


    The Manager Brand Strategy is responsible for providing planning and strategic support in managing and executing with Creative and Production groups the integrated media strategy, broad campaign content development, Events as well as other key initiatives to support Sales. Also included in this mandate, the Manager will work with the Planning and Strategy Team to develop creative and logical recommendations to business/marketing problems by linking facts and insights from multiple sources (e.g. market research, competitive intelligence, client insights, industry reports, academic literatures and etc.) and will assist in the development of the Mackenzie’s annual marketing plan and resulting initiatives.


    Major Responsibilities Include:


    • Understand the Mackenzie Value Proposition and how that manifests itself in marketing materials, campaigns and initiatives
    • Work closely with media buying agency and internal departments to ensure timely and relevant delivery of campaign messaging
    • Identify unique media opportunities to tell the Mackenzie story
    • Drive the marketing planning processes including; discussions cross-functionally to determine opportunities, identification of potential strategic initiatives and actions, perform feasibility studies and assist with the implementation of resulting efforts
    • Build and manage close relationships with key business partners, both inside and outside of marketing, to understand and influence their strategies and priorities
    • Stay current on best practices and drive strategic thinking for Mackenzie’s evolving marketing mix to optimize performance and improve marketing mix effectiveness, prioritizing next steps for short- and long-term strategic planning purposes
    • Support the creation, management and execution of the strategic communications plans for broad scope multi-channel and multi-segment initiatives
    • Coordinate with internal teams to align marketing plans with enterprise goals and objectives
    • Translate the strategic marketing plan into tactical plans inclusive of content, campaigns, editorial, digital and media
    • Communicate the tactical plans by educating and influencing across multiple levels

    • Ability to write and present concisely and persuasively
    • Strong business and financial acumen
    • Deep knowledge of the MS Office Suite especially – Excel and PowerPoint



    • University Degree (ideally in Marketing Communications or similar discipline)
    • MBA an asset


    • 5-7+ years of increasing experience in the area of marketing communications/public relations/strategy experience
    • Experience in financial services, organizations with a distributed sales force or consumer packaged goods would be an asset
