    Department Summary:

    The Internal Audit Department is an independent appraisal function within the Corporation which has been established in order to examine and evaluate the activities of the Corporation. The objective of Internal Audit is to assist members of the Corporation in the effective discharge of their responsibilities. To this end, Internal Audit furnishes these individuals with analyses, appraisals, recommendations, counsel and information concerning the activities reviewed. The audit objective includes promoting effective and efficient controls. The members of the Corporation who are assisted by Internal Audit include those in Management and the members of the Board of Directors.


    Position Summary: 

    Reporting to the Director, Operational, Financial & Regulatory Compliance Auditing the Associate Manager, Internal Audit position is responsible for the planning, development, execution, and coordination of audit procedures designed to ensure that financial, operational, information systems, and regulatory compliance processes have adequate internal controls which are operating in an effective manner. This position is also responsible for communicating audit findings and recommendations to Management.



    • Plan assigned audit engagements while ensuring adherence to International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF)
    • Execute, review and supervise fieldwork activities in connection with assigned audit engagements
    • Report to members of Internal Audit Management on the status and results of audits including significant issues and potential improvements
    • Communicate audit results through preparation of written reports
    • Engage with auditee or senior management to plan and review status of audits and to discuss and review audit findings


    • Completion of a Bachelor of Commerce degree or other related post-secondary degree.
    • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA) and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and/or other relevant professional certification/accreditation.
    • Minimum 4 years relevant audit and/or Financial Services industry experience.
    • Experience and/or knowledge in one or more of the following areas would be considered an asset:
      • Project Management
      • MFDA and/or IIROC regulations
      • Investment Management (including knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements)
      • Brokerage Operations
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration.
