    The Role:

    The Client Analytics team at Mackenzie Investments is accepting applications for the position of Client Analytics Specialist – Innovation and Engagement (Contract).  Reporting to the Client Insights Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for researching, designing, and implementing the foundation of our predictive models.


    Responsibilities include:

    • Identifying problem areas and key customer metrics to guide the collection of data and reporting
    • Working with leadership to help embed analytic insights into the company culture by linking key findings with organizational priorities and employee incentives
    • Making recommendations to senior leadership about future technology and data needs to support positive business outcomes
    • Developing a data collection framework, identifying key descriptive and diagnostic measures that support satellite level KPIs
    • Synthesizing lessons learned by building predictive models to enhance the understanding of how to optimize operations and customer experience
    • Developing new data collection methods or repositories where gaps exist
    • Supporting the Service Innovation team in the creation and understanding of client personas, customer journey maps, and stakeholder maps through analytics and insights
    • Developing customer experience dashboards and stories that make organizational performance easy to understand for employees
    • Evaluating data integrity to ensure measurement systems are robust, repeatable, and reproducible
    • Creating and structuring data repositories to support
    • Developing measures to articulate the ROI of client experience
    • Synthesize structured and unstructured customer data into actionable insights
    • Make recommendations to senior leadership on improvement opportunities
    • Make recommendations and implement improvements to day-to-day data collection, management, integrity, reporting and analysis
    • Overseeing the day to day collection, interpretation and analysis of customer data across all segments
    • Overseeing adherence to the customer reporting production schedule
    • Supporting internal partners with ad-hoc reporting and analysis

    The following qualifications will assist the successful candidate in carrying out these responsibilities:



    • Proficient in R and Python.
    • Familiarity with data modeling software such as Oracle MySQL Developer Data Modeler, Sparx Enterprise Architect, etc. 
    • Skilled with predictive analytics software such as SAP Predictive Analytics, SQL Power, IBM Predictive Analytics, etc.
    • Experience with experimental design and inferential statistics.  (Hypothesis testing: tests for significance, data distributions, Standard deviations and variances, etc.)
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Access, Excel, Visio, and VBA.
    • Proficient with business intelligence software such as Tableau, SAS, IBM Cognos, etc.
    • and C# knowledge is considered an asset.


    • Completion of a post-secondary degree or equivalent with emphasis in computer science, statistics, mathematics or business.
    • Proficiency in statistical modelling techniques
    • At least 4 years experience in an analytics and reporting role ideally within the financial services industry
    • Demonstrated experience in deriving and communicating insights and recommendations from data
    • Ability to synthesize data into succinct, concise, and logical summaries and reports
    • Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving expertise
    • Sound judgment and decision-making ability
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Industry certifications or designations an asset, including IFIC, IFIC Operations, CSC etc.
