    IGM Technology is looking for a Senior Software Developer for its Investors Group location in Winnipeg or in Toronto.

    The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing software solutions to meet our business objectives. They design software solutions across a variety of platforms and work effectively as a member of a larger, multi-disciplinary team. They have outstanding problem-solving abilities and can communicate their ideas easily to others. They are willing to learn to technologies and eager to apply their learning’s in the work environment.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Analyze, design, develop, test and document ETL programs from detailed and high-level specifications, and assist in troubleshooting
    • Utilize SQL, Korn shell and Python to perform tasks other than data transformation
    • Assist in requirements analysis and subsequent development
    • Conduct unit tests and assist in test preparations to ensure data integrity
    • Work closely with Project Managers, Quality Assurance Analysts, Systems Analysts, Systems Architects and other Software Developers
    • Provide estimates for software development work
    • After hour or on call support may be required
    • Act as an advisor or coach to junior developers
    • Develop and evolve integration best practices

    Qualifications:

    • Post secondary relevant degree/diploma (Computer Science, Computer Analyst/Programmer or equivalent)
    • 8+ years of work experience providing technical solutions using Ab Initio as well as other ETL technologies (Informatica)
    • Solid knowledge and experience with SQL, Python, UNIX, and Korn shell
    • Ability to be creative and possess strong problem-solving skills
    • Proven experience working on large, complex, enterprise level solutions
    • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a team or individually
    • Ability to develop relationships with various stakeholder groups
    • Proven success setting work priorities, multi-tasking and balancing varying demands
    • Ability to lead and mentor others
    • Positive attitude and ability to learn new technologies quickly
    • Dedication to keeping up to date with current trends and best practices
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Previous work at a large financial institution would be a definite asset
