    Overview

    The Human Resources Department is responsible for talent acquisition, human resource policy development and administration, performance management systems, job evaluation and compensation, organizational effectiveness, benefit programs and payroll functions.

     

    The Human Resources Business Partner leverages strong human resource management, problem solving and communication skills to provide advice and guidance to leaders and staff on a broad set of human resources matters.   As an Senior HR leader, this position assists other leaders at all levels in the organization with human resource planning, workforce management, policy interpretation and execution, and year-end activities.  As an expert in human resources and IGM’s HR programs, policies and procedures, this position will facilitate training, and participate in policy and program development.  As a Senior Human Resources Consultant, this position leads cross-functional project teams and provides informal leadership to members of the HR Consulting team, leveraging their experience and strong leadership skills.   

     

     

    Responsibilities include:

    • Provide private and confidential advice and guidance to individual leaders and employees at all levels of the organization on a variety of human resource matters;
    • Work with leaders to develop and execute solutions on a broad set of human resources matters such as resource planning and recruitment, workforce change management, employee relations, job evaluation, compensation/benefits, performance management, employee and leadership development;
    • Guide leaders through in-year and year-end compensation administration processes including salary setting and administration, objective setting and bonus administration, performance management and integration with compensation;
    • Lead or participate in HR policy and program development and other HR initiatives;
    • Provide training and guidance to members of HR consulting team and other members of the HR division;
    • Deal with escalated issues on sensitive and/or complex matters, providing back-up support to the Director, HR Business Partner.
    • Provide human resources advisory services on a number of employee related committees and initiatives;
    • Design and deliver training to leaders across the company on a number of HR topic areas.
    • Develop a solid understanding of all HR Disciplines across IGM in order assist and guide both leaders and employees on related questions or initiatives.
    • Work with business groups on change management initiatives

     

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 7 years related HR consulting experience within a large corporate environment, preferably in the financial services industry;
    • University degree in a related discipline;
    • In-depth knowledge of provincial legislation and employment standards;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as demonstrated presentation skills;
    • Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, and organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple demands under tight timeframes;
    • Demonstrated project management, leadership and coaching skills;
    • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
    • Proficiency in PC applications such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Familiarity with SAP Human Resource system is an asset;
    • Bilingual (French-English) is an asset.
