    The Role

     

    We are currently looking for a Senior Compensation Specialist to join our IGM Human Resources department located at either Mackenzie Investments (Toronto) or Investors Group(Winnipeg).   

     

    Within the Human Resources Department of IGM, the Compensation team works with the Human Resources Consultants to support the company and its business units in the effort to attract, engage, and retain top talent by ensuring competitive compensation packages are offered and excellence in performance is rewarded. The team has overall responsibility for the design, implementation, and administration of all compensation programs.

     

    As a valued member of the Compensation team your core responsibilities will include:

     

    Program Administration & Analytics

    • Lead compensation support as subject matter expert to HR Consultants for the Distribution Sales teams (including Retail Distribution, Institutional Sales and Service and Exchange Traded Funds) including sales compensation
    • Develop, enhance, and maintain sales incentive programs by researching market trends, analyzing competitive data, and conducting incentive plan modeling
    • Implement and administer all sales incentive programs for sales teams to ensure accurate commission calculations and payouts
    • Partner directly with Distribution Sales teams and business leaders regarding incentive plan administration and communication
    • Lead the corporate market review process with the support of the Compensation Specialist and Analyst; this includes participation in industry specific discussions with external survey companies, job matching discussions with HR Consultants, survey submissions, analyzing market results, providing salary budget and range movement recommendations to HR leadership teams
    • Provide analytical, compensation modeling, subject matter expertise on various ad-hoc projects as required

     

    Process Improvement

    • Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiencies in day to day compensation administration
    • Identify and document processes and exception tracking for compensation programs

     

    The following qualifications are required of the successful candidate:

    • University degree in business administration or related disciplines
    • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in compensation
    • Experience with Sales Compensation considered an asset
    • Strong analytical and numeric skills
    • Strong attention to details
    • The ability to produce high quality work under time pressure and to work as part of a team
    • Experience working with business leaders and senior professionals
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in handling information of a sensitive nature
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Knowledge of general Human Resources practices & policies is an asset
    • CCP Designation considered an asset
