    The Role

    The Product & Distribution Marketing Team plays a pivotal role at Mackenzie by leading the development of effective Marketing plans and strategies that are aligned with its corporate goals, objectives, and strategies.

     

    The Manager Product & Distribution Marketing is responsible for providing planning and strategic support in preparing business cases, implementing marketing tactics, conducting opportunity assessments, and leading industry/market reviews in support of the firms distribution efforts. Also included in this mandate, the Manager will develop creative and logical recommendations to business/marketing problems by linking facts and insights from multiple sources (e.g. market research, competitive intelligence, client insights, industry reports, academic literatures and etc). This includes identifying, understanding and reconciling any shifts in business needs, advisor and consumer insights and competitive and industry trends that may impact Mackenzie Investments or the financial services sector as a whole, recognizing the implications and proposing the appropriate strategies across various business units to address them.

     

    Major Responsibilities Include:

    • Support the creation, management and execution of the strategic marketing plans for broad scope multi-channel and multi-segment initiatives across multiple product lines.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to align marketing plans with enterprise goals and objectives
    • Build and manage close relationships with key business partners, both inside and outside of marketing, to understand and influence their strategies and priorities
    • Translate the strategic marketing plan into tactical plans inclusive of content, campaigns, editorial, digital and media
    • Help drive the marketing planning processes including; discussions cross-functionally to determine opportunities, identification of potential strategic initiatives and actions, perform feasibility studies and assist with the implementation of resulting efforts
    • Stay current on best practices and drive strategic thinking for Mackenzie’s evolving marketing mix to optimize performance and improve marketing mix effectiveness, prioritizing next steps for short- and long-term strategic planning purposes
    • Communicate the tactical plans by educating and influencing across multiple levels
    • Support efforts to better understand and improve the experience and resources for the advisor and investor inclusive of advancing existing platforms such as LIVEIT.  

     

    Qualifications

    • Excellent problem diagnose and analytical skills
    • Ability to focus on detail while understanding and always connecting to the big picture
    • Creative, outside of the box, thinker
    • Ability to gather relevant information and “connect the dots” to develop compelling stories
    • Ability to write and present concisely and persuasively
    • Strong business and financial acumen
    • Deep knowledge of the MS Office Suite especially – Excel and PowerPoint

     

    Education

    • University Degree (ideally in Commerce / Economics / or in other quantitative discipline)

     

    Experience

    • 3+ years of increasing experience in the area of marketing/business strategy experience in progressive, data-driven organizations
    • Experience in financial services, organizations with a distributed sales force would be an asset
